Mythical Creatures Being Made of Nature’s Waste Have Been Erected in Canadian Park

From baking banana bread to taking up cycling (and long Netflix sessions), all kinds of hobbies have arisen for people during the pandemic. For one artist living on the west coast of Canada? She’s been spending her time making extraordinary art out of twigs and twine—then placing them in her local public park for others to enjoy.

Nickie Lewis has been posting her intricate sculptures, which can be found in Robert Burnaby Park near Vancouver, on social media so people outside British Columbia can get to know them.

From dragons to trolls, fairies to mermaids and Star Wars Ewoks, the creatures Lewis has conjured up are whimsical and mythical and so much fun.
